Al Ahly, on the other hand, have only played one game in the group after
their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, and will be searching for
their first points on the board.
The Egyptian giants have been doing well in the Egyptian Premier League,
as they top the table by two points, with three games in hand and are yet
to lose in the current season.
The two sides met in last season’s group stage phase, with the Brazilians
picking up a win in Cairo and on home soil. This Saturday’s match is set
to be a thrilling encounter between two of Africa’s powerhouses, and both
teams will be looking to gain the upper hand in the group.
Al Ahly will line up with El Shenway, Maaloul, Metwally, Abdelmonem,
Hany, Marwan, Dieng, Afsha, Abdelkader, El Shahat, and Tau, while Mamelodi
Sundowns will be fielding Williams, Kekana, Mvala, Mudau, Modiba, Mokoena,
Allende, Mkhulise, Zwane, Mailula, and Shalulile. Kick-off is at 21h00 at
the Al Salam Stadium.
