Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a triple blow ahead of their Nedbank Cup
last 16 clash against Casric Stars this weekend. Amakhosi are riding a
wave of confidence after picking up back-to-back wins against Orlando
Pirates and Richards Bay United, respectively.
However, Arthur Zwane’s goal of putting out a stable starting XI suffered
a setback with the coach confirming that three players will be missing for
the cup clash against their Motsepe Foundation Championship opponents on
Sunday.
Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez are the two notable absentees for
Zwane’s side with both players having been ruled out through injury. In
addition, Amakhosi will also be without the services of striker Christian
Saile Basomboli, who is suspended for the clash having picked up four
yellow cards.
Good news for Chiefs, however, is the return to fitness of two key players
in Dillan Solomons and Kamohelo Mahlatsi, who have been out of action with
lengthy injuries for Zwanee’s side in recent times.
Chiefs will be looking to take advantage of their opponents’ misfortune as
they take on Casric Stars at the FNB Stadium On Sunday afternoon. Kick off
is at 18:00pm.
