On Saturday, South African national soccer team, Bafana Bafana, head
coach Hugo Broos expressed his hope that his players can emulate the
passion and intensity of the Springboks, South Africa’s national rugby
team, when they face Ivory Coast in an international friendly on Tuesday.
This follows a lackluster performance in their last game against Eswatini.
Broos believes that the quality of the players is not in question, but
rather the mentality and underestimation of the opponent. He is confident
that the team will be more focused in their upcoming game, citing the
Springboks’ performance in the Rugby World Cup semi-finals against France
as an example of the passion and intensity that his team should strive
for.
The Bafana Bafana coach believes that his players have a lot to learn from
the Springboks in terms of their approach to the game and that they must
always be professional and give their all in each match.
