Pirates Midfielder’s Contract Talks Hang in the Balance

Orlando Pirates defensive midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula’s future with
the club is uncertain after only a few games since joining from AmaZulu FC
in January. Sources close to the club have indicated that the former Free
State Stars and Highlands Park midfielder may be offered another year on
his contract, which is set to expire in June 2024.

The Siya crew understands that the technical team and management are
discussing the best way forward for the player, and they are keen on
keeping him for at least one more year. The club is said to be impressed
with Makhaula’s contributions on and off the field, and they believe his
spirit amongst the players is what the team needs to move forward.

The Siya crew contacted Pirates for comment but no response was received
while preparing this story.
