Mamelodi Sundowns are currently in a dilemma over whether to offer experienced midfielder Andile Jali a new contract.
The 32-year-old is in the last six months of his contract with the Chloorkop outfit, which is set to expire in June 2023. According to Jali’s long-term agent, Mike Makaab, interest in his services have escalated and Sundowns need to make a decision soon.
“I think it’s decision time for them (Sundowns) if they don’t want Andile then they need to let us know and we have to respect that and then we have to move on,” Makaab said on Gagasi FM.
He further added that there have been enquiries from teams both locally and abroad, but their first choice would be for Jali to stay local due to his family and life after football commitments.
Despite being one of Sundowns’ standout performers last season, Jali has been used sparingly by coach Rulani Mokwena this campaign, making just 12 appearances in all competitions so far. It remains to be seen whether Sundowns will offer Jali a new deal or let him move on to a new challenge.
