Burnley coach Vincent Kompany is reportedly refusing to give up on his pursuit of South African striker Lyle Foster, despite having a reported €5 million (±R92m) offer turned down by KVC Westerlo.
Kompany was present at Foster’s match in the Het Kuipje stadium on Tuesday, further fuelling speculation that the Manchester City legend was scouting the 22-year-old from Noordgesig, in Johannesburg.
Belgian publication HLN revealed that Kompany had been pursuing Foster for a while and recently had a ‘generous’ offer for his services turned down. The offer is believed to have been in the region of €5 million (±R92m). Foster has been in impressive form for Westerlo this campaign, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 20 matches.

Despite not finding the back of the net in the 3-2 loss to Genk on Tuesday evening, Kompany is said to have seen enough to make an improved offer to Westerlo for the former Vitoria Guimaraes forward.
Kompany is familiar with working with South African players, having coached Percy Tau during his time at Anderlecht in Belgium. It remains to be seen whether the Burnley coach will be successful in his pursuit of Foster.
