Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has provided an update on which players will be unavailable for their DStv Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium this weekend. Sundowns currently have a 14-point lead in the league and have a good chance of extending it, however, they will be without midfielder Haashim Domingo, who has been getting more game-time recently.
Domingo missed the Tshwane derby against SuperSport United on Monday and won’t be available for selection this weekend. Other players such as Bongani Zungu, Rivaldo Coetzee and Terrence Mashego are also still unavailable, although Zungu and Coetzee are slowly making their way back to full fitness.
Our next encounter sees us travel to Soweto to battle for three points against Amakhosi!

Speaking to the media, Mokwena said: “It’s just the long term situation with Abdel, with Nasir and Terrence. Everyone else is slowly but surely making their way back into training. Bongani Zungu is slowly coming back into training. He is not available for match selection of course, but back into training. He is on the green pitch. Riva is on the green pitch. Haashim is not on the green pitch yet. He suffered something before the SuperSport game, so no Haashim again.”
South American attacker Gaston Sirino is also a doubt for the clash, as he has a slight niggle. Mokwena added: “There’s a slight niggle on Gaston. It’s something he picked up against SuperSport, but it’s not something big. Not too many issues, fortunately, from an injury perspective.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will look to extend their lead at the top of the table when they take on Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium this weekend. However, the Brazilians will have to do so without a few key players.
