Who Are BetVictor?

Having started out life as Victor Chandler, BetVictor (rebranded in 2012) was one of the first old school bookmakers to go online. Today they are known as one of the best online bookmakers, offering great value and fantastic odds on football and horse racing, in particular. Founded originally in 1946 by William Chandler, the Gibraltar-based bookmaker and casino operates in over 150 countries.

First Impression of BetVictor

In this BetVictor review, my first view was in October 2023. As a result, this review will reflect the service offered at that point in time.

It’s difficult not to feel immediately at home when signing and up and betting with BetVictor. The site, and app, are well-designed, the layout has everything you’d want without feeling cluttered and as soon as you start heading to sports that you like you realise that the odds are great.

It doesn’t even matter what you’re into. BetVictor are famous for their racing and football odds, but there are markets for Gaelic sports, pool, speedway, skiing and more. It’s all such an impressive package.

BetVictor Live Betting

Live in-play betting is available on BetVictor with live graphics keeping you up to date with the action as it happens. In-play betting gives a large variety of betting markets with not much difference in the pre-match and in-play markets that are available.

Live streaming is also available in-play but only on horse racing with UK racing streaming available on the app and site.

BetVictor Live Streaming

The live streaming service offers over 33,000 races a year from 53 UK tracks and more from Ireland, with streaming is available daily from 8am to 10pm. Simply stake £1 or more on BetVictor and you can watch the action unfold. 

You can also watch free of charge race replays from all the ATR racecourses, (Ascot, Doncaster, Lingfield, etc). Betting and watching horse racing and greyhounds on BetVictor is a real joy, with racecards, form, and personal commentary on each runner, as well as Timeform greyhound tips.

Bet Builder 

According to extensive data collection, BetVictor offer the second best app across the entire industry. BetVictor’s bet builder is brilliant. It’s offered across different sports – including boxing, snooker and the NFL, among others – with excellent variety. You can build your own, use pre-built options, or even slightly edit the pre-made bets. If you’re still not entirely happy or can’t see what you’re after, you can tweet BetVictor, using the hashtag, and there’s a good chance that you’ll be offered a price and it gets added to the site. .

Bonuses

BetVictor offers Bet Boosts that are available for any sport, or market, and usually, are based around the top sporting events of the day. 

The boosts differ from day to day with Football and Horse Racing taking precedence at the weekend, but during the week you may find some snooker or tennis bet boosts. In some cases, the boosts are connected to something happening within the event, such as a team winning by xxx goals or a horse winning by xxx lengths.

Cash Out

Unsurprisingly, Cash Out is available at BetVictor. It’s a feature that is now par for the course for bookmakers, so it’s reassuring to see it here. The cash out offered on a bet that I placed was neither incredible, nor awful, but pretty much bang on what I’ve come to expect from the feature generally.

BetVictor Horse Racing

The BetVictor site and app allows you to bet on a wide range of horse racing action across the globe from the UK and Ireland to South Africa and the UAE.

The low minimum deposit of £5 that is available also provides a major positive for users who like to bet on racing. The odds comparison chart above shows just how high BetVictor rank on their best odds on Horse Racing compared to other major bookmakers.

The BetFinder is an excellent function on BetVictor and is a horse racing guide. Using Timeform information, you can select a range of racing criteria, and then shortlist races to narrow down your selections.

I have used Bet Finder for horse racing tips and found it fun and informative, as a bonus. I even picked a few winners from it using the helpful trainer and jockey stats, where those trainers and jockeys who are in form are highlighted for each individual race.

Best Odds Guaranteed  applies to all UK & Irish horse and greyhound racing from 9.00 am on the day of the race. Take an Early Price (EP) or Board Price, and if the Starting Price (SP) is bigger, BetVictor will pay you at the higher price. BOG does not apply to ante-post bets. 

BetVictor US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. At the time of writing, only the NHL season isn’t up and running, with the other major leagues in full swing. Beyond that, and maybe somewhat surprisingly given its lack of international racing coverage, there are lots of international markets for these sports, particularly for basketball.

American Football Betting

When you land on an American football section, you want to see game lines, with spread, total and moneyline markets right there. Thankfully, you get that at BetVictor. Some UK bookmakers try to Anglicise US sports, but removing the spread is completely the wrong thing to do as it’s the main thing punters look for from the off, so it’s great to see BetVictor avoiding this common mistake.

Basketball Betting

BetVictor has great basketball event coverage from all over the world. There are plenty of NBA betting options as well as odds from the biggest matches in Europe, including France, Germany, Russia, the UK. In terms of markets, you’ll find money line, total points and handicaps, plus plenty more. You can also bet in-play, with odds available quarter by quarter. 

Baseball Betting

For MLB, you can choose from markets such as the outright winner of the series, the two teams that make it to the World Series, as well as all the usuals – Run Line, Winning Margin and Team To Score First Run and so on.

Ice Hockey Betting

You’ll obviously get a big NHL focus on BetVictor given the league’s status, but you’ll also find competitions in Finland, Germany, Sweden, Kazakhstan and more. Their betting markets include Puck Line, Money Line, Total Goals, Highest Scoring Period, Double Chance, Winning Margin, Win/Draw/Win Betting and a selection of 3-Way Handicaps. 

BetVictor Darts Betting

In terms of darts betting sites in the UK, BetVictor is really good. They offer markets for so many different tournaments. The big PDC events are a given, of course, but on top of that you’ll find the Masters, UK Open, World Cup of Darts, World Series of Darts, World Grand Prix and the European Championship. 

BetVictor Snooker Betting

BetVictor makes our top ten best snooker betting sites. Regardless of the time of year, you will find outright markets on the game’s three biggest events – the World Championships, the UK Championships and The Masters –  at all times on BetVictor. Other events feature throughout the snooker season, with decent market depth consistently and you can utilise some general promotions, as well as attractive sign-up bonus, if you want to use them for your snooker betting. 

BetVictor Rugby Betting (Union & League)

It’s great to see some bet boosts for the Rugby World Cup given that the tournament is in full flow. It’s surprising how few bookies are running similar offers, despite the tournament size and prominence, so it’s great to see here.

Rugby betting markets (across League and Union) offered for individual matches include 3-Way Handicap, Total Points, Winning Margin and a range of Try Scorer options. 

BetVictor Cricket Betting

It’s nice to see some promotions going on given that the Cricket World Cup is underway. Here there are some bet boosts, and some on pre-made bet builders which look great value.

The event coverage is excellent, with domestic competitions in India, Australia and the UAE all there, as well as outrights for future World Cups and the Ashes, also. 

Betway currently tops our Best Cricket betting site right now, with huge market depth, great odds and lots of promotions. BetVictor actually matches them odds-wise, so hopefully they can up their market depth and they’ll be in with a shout of being one of the best around.

BetVictor Tennis Betting

The tennis betting at BetVictor is very good. There are all the majors listed for next year, with outrights offered on all, and for upcoming matches there is a decent selection of ATP matches, as well as Challenger Series matches across the world. There’s also some enhanced accas offered at the time of review which is always nice to see. On top of that, I really like the in-play stats package that they do – there’s a lot of info packed in and it’s displayed cleanly and succinctly.

BetVictor Golf Betting

It’s hard to fault the golf output here. There are ante post markets on all the majors, as well as the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup. There are also LIV Golf Events, the Andalucia Masters, BMW Ladies Championship, plus a few more. You will find golf odds on the likes of Top 5 and Top 10 Finish, Round Leaders and Dual Forecast right here, and even Hole In One markets. 

BetVictor Motorsports Betting

With a wide variety of betting markets covering everything from Formula 1, all the way through to the Formula E Drivers Championship, Speedway and V8 Supercars, the motorsports offering is excellent here. Motorcycling and speedway are also covered, but under different tabs, so it’s hard to see where this can be improved because the odds are really competitive, too. 

BetVictor Boxing Betting

former professional boxer – I’m pleased to report that BetVictor has a broad selection of boxing markets for all the world’s top bouts in every weight division. I find that the boxing betting odds cover a range of markets. Of course, you can bet on the fight winner for all bouts, but there is also a vast range of other markets, including, but not limited to, Round Betting, Total Rounds (Under/Over), Round Group Betting and Will The Fight Go The Distance.

BetVictor Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in.

Handball Betting

Handball is increasingly popular and BetVictor looks to be offering plenty for punters to bet on various handball events and tournaments worldwide. Markets include Win/Draw/Win, Handicap, Total Goals, Win Match and Draw No Bet markets, all with in-play and cash out available. As well as the World Championships and Champions League, there are domestic competitions in Denmark, France, Poland, Turkey and more. 

Cycling Betting

BetVictor offers betting on cycling for sports bettors who like to dabble in cycling betting, and comparing it with others out there it’s excellent. There are markets for the classics like Paris-Roubaix, Milan-San Remo and the Tour of Flanders, and that’s obviously on top of the three major tours. As well as road racing, however, BetVictor also covers the Olympics and World Championships, with events including Omnium, Madison, Team Pursuit, Keirin and Time Trial.

Esports Betting 

Despite BetVictor having a big presence when it comes to mainstream betting, they also have betting available for esports markets. Betting is available on games such as DOTA 2, Counter-Strike, League of Legends and FIFA as well as many others.

Esports betting is of course not as traditional as normal betting markets but it’s popularity is increasing as gaming grows in size year-by-year. All of the major matches and tournaments that are played in the games mentioned above are available to bet on on BetVictor as one of the best esports betting sites.

Political Betting

The political betting section is laid out nicely and easy to navigate. Split into US Politics and UK Politics, you can do a deeper dive into the UK once you’re in, beyond the US Presidential election and UK General Election. There are markets for the London Mayoral race, next party leaders and next Prime Minister, as well as Labour Party and Conservative Party specials.

Unfortunately there isn’t anything beyond the UK or US, and I’d like to see some more interesting markets, such as moat seats, or by-election stuff, so overall BetVictor delivers a decent job, if a little unimaginative. You can compare them to other political betting options and see if you agree.

Entertainment and Specials

This is an excellent selection for entertainment betting. There are markets on all the major reality shows running at the moment – that means Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing on Ice, Big Brother and the upcoming BBC Sports Personality of the Year. On top of that there are plenty of markets for next year’s Oscars and Emmys.

Virtual Sports

Virtual betting is growing in popularity seemingly year-by-year these days and it’s no surprise to see BetVictor offer a wide range of virtual sports on their platform.

With two types of horse racing, two types of football, both club and Euro plus two different basketball leagues there are always Virtual sports taking place.

The app is available on both Android and iOS and covers all of the different sports that are available on the BetVictor site.

Reviews on both the App Store and Google Play are both well over 4.5 out of 5 with both sets of users happy with the app.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. 

Placing a bet on BetVictor is straightforward with the betslip instantly popping up on the side of your screen on the desktop site. This adds your selection straight into your slip with the speed of placing the bet after clicking it less than a second.

The app is fairly similar to the desktop site with the betslip going at the bottom of your screen as soon as you pick your selection on there. In-play betting will always be slower to place a bet but from the example bets that we did we found that the prices stayed the same for the few seconds it took for the bet to process in-play.

Managing your account

An integral part of any betting site is the account management side of things with the ease of access to various account details always important. Plenty of options are available in the My Account section of BetVictor including Bet History, Banking History and overall transactions.

Safer Gambling portals can be found in the account section too with BetVictor’s safer gambling portal a brilliant tool to use on the site and app. Deposit limits, current time alerts, specific product restrictions and more can be found in the safer gambling section.

BetVictor Responsible Gambling Features

This is a strong point from BetVictor. By going to their Responsible Gambling menu in the navigation, you can turn deposit limits on or off, and then obviously set what these limits are. You can also deactivate your account through their Self-Exclusion tool, add a timer to monitor how much time you’re spending betting or take a self-assessment test to monitor your behaviour more closely. Overall, it’s a really good showing.

BetVictor Review Summary 

Overall, BetVictor is such a brilliant betting option. They rank number one for betting apps, as well as being in our top threes for Best Odds Guaranteed and Bet Builders.

Punters hear about the football and racing odds, but every sport that you take a look at has both a huge range in events, as well as fantastic odds on plenty of markets. I really struggled to find things that I couldn’t bet on. I particularly like betting on football, the NFL and college football, cycling and rugby and all were right up there.

There are regular odds boosts, enhanced accas, and every single sports page has a tonne of useful information underneath the markets (great for novice bettors).

If we’re being picky it would be great if there was live streaming on other sports aside from horse racing, but you can’t have everything. Overall, BetVictor is an exceptional betting experience.
